04 Jan Bobby’s is back
We were delighted to hear the news that Bobby’s was returning to Bournemouth town centre, half a century after it’s departure.
Our founder, Kim, shared that her Nanny was a hairdresser and beautician in Bobby’s, back in the day. And it is the place where she met her husband so Bobby’s was very close to her heart. After hearing this, we knew we wanted to be in Bobby’s before Christmas!
We were thrilled to be able to design the Bee Crackers exlusively for Bobby’s. These crackers are hand rolled in Dorset and filled with locally hand rolled beeswax candles, natural beeswax wraps, honey dribbler and bee saving seeds.
Our Fox & Fawn brand represents going back to our roots and bringing back handmade in Dorset, reintroducing the products that our customers know and love.
Still on sale in Bobby’s.
At the same time as making the bee crackers, we wanted to make some extra special crackers that could be used in conjunction with a Christmas giveaway. We love the art deco theme throughout the Bobby’s store so knew we wanted something of a similar look.
Ta-dah! Our 16 inch art deco crackers filled with luxury items.
Bobby’s will use these in a random act of kindness giveaway. A customer will be chosen in store, at random and will be given their very own tray!
After a few meetings with Andy at Bobby’s (Zoom meetings of course) we decided that as well as selling the bee crackers and 16 inch giveaway crackers, that we would hold cracker making events at the South Coast Maker’s floor, in the lead up to Christmas week.
We held three crackers making workshops on each Saturday in December and people could pre book tickets.
All proceeds from the workshops went to Michael House which is a homeless charity, in Bournemouth, who have been providing to the homeless since 1992.
It was so lovely to be able to meet so many families and watch the children get so creative. They chose each gift incredibly carefully so that their siblings didn’t end up with a better toy than them! We also shared Christmas stories and they were so heart warming to hear.
Some wonderful trays of crackers were created and we can’t wait to see pictures of them on Christmas day.
Also a special mention the wonderful teams at Bobby’s and the South Coast makers market for helping us to organise this and all their help whilst we were there.
We are so happy to share that we raised a total of £830 for Michael’s House. Thanks for all your support!
